Welcome to the official blog of Joanna Neary, where you can catch up on Jo’s bewildered world past, present and looming. Mainly, this blog consists of scanned pages from her sketchbook with a running commentary, dashed off between duties, work and other hobbies. As well as banging on about art, there’s also past gigs, and music, such as the one about being interviewed for Prog Magazine in 2019, which led to some delightful exchanges with fellow nerds. It was all very civil, even when Jo had to admit she’d got a Frank Zappa fact wrong.

Read moreInteresting article in the Guardian today. I usually avoid the papers, I can’t remember why I was distracted into reading this today. It’s about children and screen time, and it’s sort of common sense. The stupid things we do in our own homes, like trying to do exercise with an audience. Shabby Shit, I mean […]

I found a review that me and my best friend did for MacDonald’s on the first and last time we went there to eat. There were actual poos on the seats in the loo. […]
Read moreHere are some other pictures from my year so far. I really like the Marie Kondo method and Shinto and all that, but I am also doing comedy about it, though I’ve had to draw the line at doing an impression. (I did have one but it was vetoed by my audience member. I am […]
Read moreCreative Challenges So Far… My creative challenge today, is uploading images to this flaming page. It’d be quicker to invite you, one by one for tea, to have a look at my sketchbook at your leisure. Anyway. Heather Minor and me have been having great fun doing our first ever podcast. It’s about creativity, how […]
Read moreI’ve done some drawings in response to Marie Kondo’s technique on Netflix… The rest is the rammel I’ve been sorting, after Kondo-ing my drawers. Does this spark joy for you? Or do you think I must be a hoarder? Some of this stuff is from the Riot Grrrl days… (sticker by Bikini Kill circa 1992. […]
